Now that we are in the midst of the Easter season, can you remember back to Epiphany? Everyone was encouraged to take a “Star Word” to be a guide for their prayer and reflection this coming year. My husband Jeff has his word posted on our refrigerator: adventure. My word is on the table in my office next to a candle: revive.
Do you remember yours? Know where it is? I’ve noticed over the past several months that I am just so much more aware when I see my “word.”
We sing the hymn “There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy” and I notice that the hymn tune is “Lord, Revive Us.”
My morning devotions include Psalm 138, verse 7: “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive me.”
I see a Facebook post with the following prayer:
Lord, enlighten what’s dark in me,
Strengthen what’s weak in me,
Mend what’s broken in me,
Bind what’s bruised in me,
Heal what’s sick in me,
Revive whatever peace and love Has died in me.
And suddenly, my Epiphany Star-word and the Easter good news come together…
Christ is risen and we and all creation are revived in the peace and love he brings.
I’d love to hear what your “Star Word” is revealing to you this year...stop me on a Sunday morning, or send me an e-mail.
