Tuesday nights in Lent at 7 PM, singing Holden Evening Prayer

"Dismantling Anti-Semitism through the Solemn Reproaches."

During the season of Lent, Christians are invited to repentance and reflection while traveling the road of Jesus in his last days.

Christians have long wrestled with the meaning of Christ's death, and early in Christianity, believers were quick to blame the Jewish people. Even when we say we don't blame Jews, sometimes anti-Semitic views can appear in our theology. How can we proclaim God’s reign of healing and justice while building relationships of integrity with Jews and Judaism?

The Solemn Reproaches are an ancient part of the Good Friday liturgy and are written as a dialogue between God and the people of God, calling out for mercy. We continue the plea for God's mercy, lament the violence that has happened in God's name, and we seek God's promise of future redemption
