Vacation Bible School @ Gethsemane
Online - July 20-24
Thanks to technology and creative minds we were able to offer this VBS program in an online format!
Online VBS included videos, craft ideas, snack ideas, and a one hour google classroom virtual storytelling time.
Day 1 Theme: Zero Hunger.
Focus Prayer: "Give us today our daily bread."
Bible Story: The feeding of 5,000 (Matthew 14: 13-21)
Day 2 Theme: Good Health.
Focus Prayer: "Your will be done, on Earth as it is in heaven."
Bible Story: People lower their friend through a roof to Jesus. (Luke 5: 17-39)
Day 3 Theme: Gender Equality.
Focus Prayer: "Your kingdom come."
Bible Story: Mary Magdalene and Mary meet the resurrected Jesus. (Matthew 28: 1-15)
Day 4 Theme: Education.
Focus Prayer: "Hallowed be your name."
Bible Story: Jesus sends the disciples. (Luke 9: 1-2, 10-11)
Day 5 Theme: Peace.
Focus Prayer: "For the kingdom, the power, and the glory, are yours now and forever."
Bible Story: Jesus appears to the disciples. (Luke 24: 36-49)
“On Earth As in Heaven” explores the meaning of the Lord’s Prayer for our world today, using one petition each day to explore faith, justice and the work to which God is calling us. The program this year is unique in that each day focuses on one petition from the prayer and ties the petition to one of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals in easily accessible ways.
We are able to keep our costs low thanks in part to our generous Gethsemane members. You or your children do not need to be members of Gethsemane to join in the Vacation Bible School Fun!
